Assessment
The assessment practices within our KG department are carefully designed to gauge students’ acquisition of essential skills and knowledge. English and Arabic teachers collaborate to conduct assessments using a variety of methods, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of student progress.
By employing a comprehensive range of assessment methods, our KG department ensures a thorough and holistic understanding of students’ abilities, allowing for targeted instructional approaches and tailored support to meet individual learning needs. Assessment outcomes serve as valuable feedback to inform curriculum planning and instructional practices, fostering continuous improvement and promoting optimal educational outcomes for our KG students.
Daily Observation
Teachers engage in continuous observation of students’ behaviours, interactions, and participation in classroom activities. This method allows for real-time assessment and provides valuable insights into individual strengths and areas for improvement.
Assignments
Through thoughtfully crafted assignments, students are given opportunities to showcase their understanding of concepts, apply skills, and demonstrate their learning. Assignments may include worksheets, projects, and tasks that require critical thinking and problem-solving.
Checklists
Checklists serve as valuable assessment tools, enabling teachers to track students’ progress against specific learning objectives and developmental milestones. These checklists provide a systematic approach to assessing skills and provide a comprehensive overview of individual student achievements.
Reflection
Reflection is an integral part of the assessment process in our KG department. Teachers encourage students to reflect on their learning experiences, identify areas of growth, and set goals for further improvement. This reflective practice fosters metacognition and empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey.
Parent Involvement
We recognize the significance of parent involvement in assessing children’s development and progress. Regular parent-teacher communication channels are established to share assessment outcomes, discuss individual strengths and areas for improvement, and collaborate on strategies to support students’ holistic development.
